Risk Management Specialist

Recruit Secure is collaborating with a highly rated Assisted Living Corporation in the Metuchen, NJ area to find an experienced Risk Manager for a direct hire opportunity. The ideal candidate will be responsible for mitigating patient health risks and developing policies to ensure the facility's safety and accountability. The Risk Manager will investigate incidents, assess liability, and report to regulatory agencies. The role requires a strong understanding of DOH and state regulatory compliance laws and policies. The successful candidate will work with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the effectiveness of the program and educate staff on risk mitigation. A generous benefits package is included.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential risks to patient safety and security
  • Investigate and report incidents according to NYS DOH policy
  • Assess liability and financial risks to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations
  • Report on ongoing investigations to the Administrator and corporate team members
  • Implement mitigation strategies and assess their effectiveness
  • Initiate and direct investigations and notifications to authorities
  • Issue timely reports to regulatory agencies and authorities
  • Represent the facility at audits, inspections, and investigations by governing authorities
  • Knowledge of how to defend complaints against the facility and/or staff
  • Coordinate with labor laws, health compliance, and risk prevention measures
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare or Business Administration, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of operations and clinical experience in healthcare, including quality assurance and risk management
  • Prior experience in a Risk Management role in healthcare (ALF or SNFs)
  • CPHRM or CPPS certification a plus
  • At least 2 years of working experience in Assisted Living facilities
  • Good understanding of DOH and state regulatory compliance laws and policies
  • Experience with assessing risks and financial liability
  • Experience with writing and implementing policies and procedures
  • Ability to work with interdisciplinary teams, counseling and educating on risk mitigation
