Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer - Substitute On Call to join our team at the Bizzell Group. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for providing substitute and/or call-in services of a security officer, ensuring the safety and security of our staff, students, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with planning, developing, implementing, overseeing, and integrating safety and security programs.
  • Provide substitute and/or call-in services of a security officer, ensuring the safety and security of our staff, students, and visitors.
  • Enforce all laws, rules, and policies within your scope of authority.
  • Perform foot patrols of assigned areas, remaining alert for disturbances, fires, safety hazards, traffic violators, suspicious acts and/or persons, and other unusual conditions.
  • Aid and assist visitors, student employees, and staff in every way possible.
  • Perform building security and safety checks.
  • Receive complaints and perform appropriate investigations.
  • Provide transportation service as needed.
  • Investigate vehicle accidents at the Center.
  • Issue visitor passes and temporary parking permits.
  • Perform main entrance duty.
  • Assist staff in quelling disturbances.
  • Prepare written accident reports and other reports as required.
  • Coordinate recruiting, selecting, and training of security cadets.
  • Participate in preparation and enforcement of the Center's safety and fire prevention program.
  • Conduct daily briefings with security cadets, covering assignments, proper dress, and procedures.
  • Provide written and oral reports, briefings, or summaries to appropriate staff.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly maintained.
  • Provide vehicle checks to entering and exiting traffic.
  • Adhere to required property control policies and procedures.
  • Work towards meeting performance standard goals.
  • Comply with all DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulation, Quality Assurance Plan (QAP), Bizzell's policies and procedures, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and Center policies and procedures.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in all areas and comply with safety practices.
  • Follow CDSS plan and Code of Conduct system daily.
  • Help students become more employable through continuous reinforcement.
  • Demonstrate and abide by The Bizzell Group's core values and operating principles.
  • Model, mentor, and monitor appropriate Career Success Standards.
  • Participate in PRH mandated staff training, which is mandatory.
  • Assist in maintaining student security and accountability during training, day and evening, by continuously walking through areas where students are being trained, having lunch, participating in dorm activities, recreational activities, and monitoring grounds over the entire Center.

Qualifications
  • Computer Literacy with basic computer functions, email, internet, and basic programs such as Adobe Acrobat.
  • Knowledge in operating security and surveillance equipment.
  • Knowledge of basic security procedures.
  • High level of good judgment and observation skills.
Experience
  • Two years of security, law enforcement, military, or experience.
  • Safety-related training preferred.
  • At least one year in a residential living setting and a background in youth programs or law enforcement is preferred.
Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates Degree preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Valid State Drivers License.
