Position Overview

The Safety and Security Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining a secure environment for all associates, guests, and property assets. This position is integral to supporting the organization’s goals, objectives, vision, mission, and values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough interior and exterior patrols across the property, ensuring doors and rooms are secured, and identifying any unauthorized individuals or safety risks.
  • Respond promptly to all calls from guests and associates during patrols, prioritizing emergencies.
  • Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate records, including key logs, lost and found items, group resumes, contractor passes, and emergency equipment through daily audits.
  • Ensure completion of daily shift logs and shift pass-down logs.
  • Monitor CCTV systems to maintain constant surveillance of the premises.
  • Facilitate associate safety training and proactively address safety hazards throughout the property.
  • Communicate effectively regarding incidents, providing updates as necessary.
  • Maintain awareness of property activities and events during each shift, ensuring a professional security presence with a focus on customer service.
  • Receive and relay all relevant information from daily briefings.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Two to three years of experience in a security role.
  • CPR/First Aid certification and a current Guard Card are essential.
  • Experience in a luxury hotel environment is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; daily use of these programs is expected.

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent walking and the ability to provide direction throughout the workday. Candidates must be able to stand and move with agility for extended periods, reach various areas of the hotel promptly, and perform tasks that involve bending, stooping, squatting, and stretching. The ability to lift up to 15 lbs. regularly is also necessary.

Compensation

The compensation for the Safety and Security Specialist position is set at $20.50 per hour. This figure represents the base salary or hourly wage range, exclusive of additional incentive pay such as commissions or gratuities.
