Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Director of Engineering to join our team at Marriott International. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for assisting the department head in managing budget, capital expenditures, preventative maintenance, and energy conservation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and evaluating preventative maintenance programs
  • Help establish priorities for total property maintenance needs
  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of Engineering
  • Assist in managing the physical plant, including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical, and life safety systems
  • Maintain and operate equipment at optimum effectiveness, efficiency, and safety
  • Supervise the distribution of repair work orders
  • Assist in maintaining grounds, meeting rooms, ballrooms, public space, restaurants, property vehicles, and recreational facilities as needed
  • Act as a technical liaison for all departments in the property
  • Supervise Engineering in the absence of the Director of Engineering
  • Recommend or arrange for additional services, such as painting, repair work, renovations, and the replacement of furnishings and equipment
  • Select and make purchases of new equipment, supplies, and furnishings
  • Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of facilities to determine the type of work required
  • Manage parts, supplies, and equipment inventories effectively to minimize downtime and maximize cash flow
  • Perform inspections effectively
  • Assist in evaluating and implementing new technologies, equipment, and supplies
  • Assist in establishing and implementing an energy conservation program
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED; 4 years of experience in engineering and maintenance or a related field; technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing
  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or a related major; 2 years of experience in engineering and maintenance or a related field; technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing
Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of $83,000 to $107,000 annually, as well as an annual bonus. In addition, the position is eligible for a range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, health care flexible spending account, dependent care flexible spending account, life insurance, disability insurance, accident insurance, adoption expense reimbursements, paid parental leave, educational assistance, 401(k) plan, stock purchase plan, discounts at Marriott properties, commuter benefits, employee assistance plan, and childcare discounts.
