Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) AI Networking team is building an ultra-high performance network required to support AI/ML/HPC workloads. Lead a team that designs, develops, solves problems and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc. As a Senior Director of the software engineering division, you will apply your extensive knowledge of software architecture to lead software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to current and future design specifications. Build improvements within an existing software architecture and envision improvements to the architecture. Directs and ensures the implementation of operational policies through subordinate managers. Interacts internally and externally with executive management involving negotiation of difficult matters to influence policy. Functional expertise and broad company knowledge. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.

As a service leader, you will:

  • Define the product working with a product management.
  • Help define service strategy and roadmap.
  • Represent the organization at the VP and SVP level.
  • Manage the design, development, and operations of the team.
  • Collaborate with your team, peers, and senior leadership to identify requirements, coordinate delivery, and integrate solutions for new features and functionality.
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership.
  • Recruit and continue to build out a capable and cohesive engineering team.
Qualifications
  • 10 years experience designing, delivering, and operating large scale distributed systems in production environments.
  • 7 years experience managing large-scale organizations, preferably with multiple layers of management.
  • Manage the design, delivery, and operation of large scale distributed systems.
  • Demonstrable success mentoring and growing junior engineers to senior levels.
  • Strong knowledge of Operating Systems fundamentals.
  • Strong knowledge of networking, distributed systems and high-performance computing fundamentals.
  • Experience with build automation, continuous integration and continuous deployment tools.

US: Hiring Range: from $142,900 to $338,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral. Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracles differing products, industries and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

  10. Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
