Job Summary

The State of Hawaii is seeking highly skilled and experienced professionals to fill the positions of Land Agent II, III, and IV. As a member of the Department of Land and Natural Resources, you will play a critical role in the acquisition and disposition of public lands, ensuring the efficient utilization and maintenance of real property.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare transactions for the acquisition and disposition of land, including property valuation and appraisal.
  • Inspect public lands for violations of contractual agreements, statutes, land laws, rules, and regulations, and enforce compliance.
  • Develop and maintain real property classification and valuation systems, including construction and depreciation indexes, valuation tables, and methods for gauging the values of different classes of real property.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including government agencies, private landowners, and community groups, to achieve the goals of the Department of Land and Natural Resources.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • At least six months of progressively responsible experience in land management, property management, real property appraisal, or a closely related field.
  • Knowledge of Hawaii land laws, real estate laws and terminology, the real property appraisal process, various types of land titles and legal instruments affecting land transactions, and the ability to gather and analyze land transaction data, prepare reports of findings, including conclusions and recommendations, and meet and deal effectively with others.
