Phlebotomy Technician

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Technician to join our team at Prisma Health. As a key member of our Laboratory-Phlebotomy department, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients and ensuring the safety and comfort of those in our care.
Key Responsibilities- Collect blood samples from patients using correct technique and protocol, verifying patient and specimen identification and labeling specimens accurately.
- Accession samples into computer systems for accurate testing and billing, obtaining signed documents as needed, and reviewing outstanding workload reports.
- Perform Point of Care testing and sample processing if assigned, notifying caregivers of critical values and maintaining accurate records.
- Provide excellent customer service, communicating effectively with patients, guests, and colleagues, and participating in work unit action plans and department-based goals.
- Restock supplies, maintain a clean and organized work area, and monitor expiration dates of all supplies and reagents.
- Perform account registrations, orders tests, and completes clerical duties such as scanning patient data and tracking monthly workload performance.
- Participate in Continuing Education (CE) program annually and complete all required 6-month and annual competencies in the required time frame.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3 Month training in phlebotomy Certification
- Previous phlebotomy experience or training in formal programs which include phlebotomy are qualified as candidates
This is a full-time position working days at the Greenville Memorial Med Campus, 1008 Greenville Memorial Hospital, Laboratory-Phlebotomy department.
