Multispecialty Telemetry Nurse Assistant

As a Multispecialty Telemetry Nurse Assistant at Prisma Health, you will play a vital role in providing patient care based on the individualized plan of care for patients. You will assist the Registered Nurse in performing basic nursing activities and activities requiring sterile technique. This includes conducting data collection, monitoring, and documenting patient status. You will also ensure confidentiality of all patient information and utilize safe patient handling at all times. Additionally, you will inform the RN of activities performed, observations of patients, and changes in patient status.

Assist patients with activities of daily living, turning, and repositioning patients alone or with assistance, transporting patients, and assisting with walking. Assist with fall prevention interventions and patient restraints as delegated. - Provision of Patient Care
Provide patient care as delegated by the RN, including sterile and non-sterile soaks, application of sterile simple dressings and non-sterile simple dressings, perineal care, removal of foley catheters, basic ostomy care, nasal cannula, and incentive spirometry. Phlebotomy performed as determined by unit specific needs. - Data Collection and Documentation
Conduct data collection, including vital signs, fluid intake and outtake, and basic and sterile specimen collection. Properly document and maintain data on medical records and inform the RN of activities performed, observations of patients, and changes in patient status. - Additional Responsibilities
Run errands, answer the telephone, answer and respond to call lights, and perform point of care testing as trained and delegated by the RN. Report lab values to the RN. Provide and document comfort and non-pharmacological pain management measures. - Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
- Education
Completion of Patient Care Technician program (post high school) - Experience
No previous experience required
- Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.)
- BLS
- Basic Computer Skills
- Knowledge of Office Equipment
- Data Entry and Mathematical Skills
- Knowledge of Sterile Techniques
