Job Title: Patient Placement CoordinatorCompany: CommonSpirit Health

As a Patient Placement Coordinator at CommonSpirit Health, you will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless transfer of patients across our regional network of hospitals and healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transfer Center Operations: Serve as the designated liaison for emergency departments, healthcare facilities, and community-based physicians/providers to schedule hospital beds for incoming patients to all CommonSpirit Health hospitals.
  • Bed Resource Management: Coordinate a seamless Transfer/Access Center model for ensuring the timely, efficient, and cost-effective utilization of bed resources on a regional basis.
Key Performance Indicators:
  • Track and communicate key patient throughput metrics on a regional basis.
  • Develop and oversee a regional length-of-stay multi-disciplinary team.
  • Work with site-specific patient placement staff to facilitate transfers to other CommonSpirit Health facilities.
  • Coordinate external bed placement with other hospitals when no beds are available at CommonSpirit Health facilities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or related discipline.
  • Five years of progressively responsible related work experience, preferably in a multi-hospital system.
  • Critical Care or Emergency Room nursing experience required.
  • Charge Nurse experience is strongly preferred.
Cultural Competence:
  • Demonstrate proper use of communication tools/materials for effective communication.
  • Understand how the culture(s) of patient populations can affect communication, collaboration, and the provision of care, treatment, and services.
Qualifications:
  • Current licensure by the Washington State Board of Nursing is required.
