Job Responsibilities
The Airport Facility Cleaner is tasked with ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of airport facilities, which includes terminals, restrooms, and public spaces. This role encompasses various cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and waste management, aimed at providing a pleasant atmosphere for travelers and staff. Adherence to health and safety standards is essential, along with effective use of cleaning supplies and equipment. Additionally, the role involves reporting maintenance concerns and ensuring that cleaning materials are adequately stocked and maintained.
WORKING AS AN AIRPORT FACILITY CLEANER
· Collaborate with team members towards shared objectives
· Execute general cleaning tasks across multiple airport areas, including terminals, restrooms, and offices
· Operate cleaning equipment, such as vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and carpet cleaners
· Dispose of waste in designated areas and manage trash receptacles
· Sanitize restrooms, ensuring they are supplied with necessary items
· Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and windows
· Maintain floors, walkways, and stairways through sweeping and mopping
· Address cleaning emergencies or spills promptly
· Replenish cleaning and hygiene supplies in restrooms and other facilities
· Comply with all safety and health regulations concerning cleaning and chemical usage
· Report any maintenance issues or required repairs
· Demonstrate a keen attention to detail
· Enjoy working collaboratively or independently to complete tasks
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
· Capability to lift 70 pounds or more
· Ability to hear and respond to verbal communication and audible alarms in the terminal environment
· Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus
Qualifications
· Minimum age of 18 years
· Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English, including documentation
· Basic ability to follow safety protocols and cleaning guidelines
· Previous experience in janitorial or cleaning roles is preferred
· Familiarity with cleaning methods and equipment usage
· Physical capability to stand, walk, and perform manual tasks for extended durations
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
· Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively
· Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
· Comfortable using computers, mobile devices, and tablets
· Ability to pass a drug screening
· Eligibility to obtain necessary credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs, and U.S. Postal, as applicable)

Compensation:
The pay rate of $18.29/hr mentioned is what the company reasonably anticipates to offer for this role. However, individual compensation may vary based on qualifications, skills, competencies, education, and experience.
