Vice President Human Resources Job Summary

Olin Chemicals seeks a seasoned Vice President of Human Resources to lead the Human Resources function across its chemicals business. This individual will be responsible for providing strategic direction, leadership, and support to senior management on workforce planning and organizational plans and structure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute HR strategies that support the organization's overall business objectives.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and counseling to leaders on employee issues.
  • Lead the talent review process for the chemicals business, including identification of critical talent, succession planning, and ongoing employee development.
  • Develop HR staff, assess performance, build skills and competencies, and support professional development to ensure a robust talent and succession bench is in place for the HR function.
  • Role model Olin's values in support of Olin's lifting people culture, sponsor employee networks, serve as a mentor, and provide leadership for Olin's diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Guide and support HR business partners on employee/labor relations and works councils issues.
  • Advise and consult in collective bargaining strategies and negotiations.
  • Ensure the HR function is knowledgeable on market trends and changes in HR technology and strategy on a global basis.
  • Lead M&A due diligence activities as projects develop and then be prepared to lead integration processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or another related field in business administration.
  • 15+ years of relevant human resources experience with 7+ years in a managerial role.
  • Public company and chemicals industry experience preferred.
  • Up to 25-30% travel.
  • Strong knowledge of HR-related state and federal regulations and total rewards programs.
  • Strong knowledge and capability using HCM systems, Workday preferably.
  • Ability to analyze data, summarize, draw conclusions, and offer solutions and recommendations.
  • Must be adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must demonstrate strong, engaging, and approachable leadership style and ability to motivate a global team of professionals.
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and possess a valid US Driver's license.
