About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Radar Subject Matter Expert to join our team at KBR. As a key member of our space systems team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance on the development of advanced radar systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of engineering work in the development of operable systems capable of meeting requirements within imposed constraints, including mass, cost, and schedule.
  • Design and/or research subsystem interfaces to ensure that subsystems are integrated and work together to form a viable complete system.
  • Perform functional analysis of a system to ensure it meets performance criteria and mission constraints and to feed the analysis results back to the subsystem development teams.
  • Formulate, recommend, and direct operations and procedures to resolve engineering and/or technical problems regarding operations, staffing, and equipment utilization on a specific project or projects.
  • Provide technical assistance and instruction relative to design problems and the resolution of construction or operating difficulties.
  • Conduct special studies and investigations related to project activities and recommend changes as appropriate to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and meet changed or new requirements.
  • Analyze project requirements and provide information and instruction for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, designing, and modifying equipment as appropriate.
  • Plan and coordinate the work of other engineers and technical personnel, with completed assignments subject to minimum review of overall results.
  • Train, direct, and assist the efforts of other personnel, as required, to fulfill the objectives of the assignment.
Requirements
  • BS degree in engineering, physics, imaging science / remote sensing or related technical discipline.
  • 25+ years' experience with space system research, development, modeling, and simulation.
  • 15+ years' experience with GEOINT systems.
  • Satellite development experience with low or high earth systems.
  • Domain expertise in GEOINT space systems and major space system performance.
  • Specific knowledge of the NRO and application of its processes.
  • Familiarity with the system design trade process, assessment of system design options, analysis of mission requirements, monitoring of development and test activities, development of CONOPs, and tracking of system performance.
  • Demonstrated experience in interacting with development contractors, actively participating in design reviews, evaluating technical proposals, documents, and designs, reviewing and/or developing test plans and procedures, and writing correspondence or white papers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI (ability to obtain a CI poly).
