Compensation: $23.00 - $42.00 Based on Experience

Join our team as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, where you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing a variety of heavy machinery. This role involves providing exceptional service to our clients, ensuring their equipment operates efficiently. Your work will be a mix of shop-based and field service, utilizing a company-provided vehicle for travel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues based on customer feedback.
  • Utilize your expertise in hydraulics and electrical systems to diagnose faults.
  • Operate various hand tools and machinery safely and effectively.
  • Order necessary parts to complete repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of work performed.
  • Inspect equipment for leaks, loose fittings, and ensure all specifications are met.
  • Conduct pressure tests and document results accordingly.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding job progress and challenges.
  • Assist in planning daily tasks and promote future service opportunities.
  • Engage directly with customers to provide updates and recommendations.
  • Contribute to procedural improvements and operational efficiency.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.


Qualifications:
  • Must possess a current Federal Medical Examination Card.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with wiring systems and the ability to utilize programming tools.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic fittings and hoses.
  • Experience operating cutting tools and welding equipment.
  • Basic mathematical skills and the ability to interpret technical schematics.
  • Practical experience in mechanical design or layout.
  • Technical degree or equivalent on-the-job training preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in heavy equipment service.


Health & Safety Standards:
  • Perform all tasks in a safe manner, adhering to company safety protocols.
  • Utilize Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) as required.
  • Participate in safety training and demonstrate knowledge of safety procedures.
  • Report any safety concerns or unsafe practices to management.
  • Ability to obtain a DOT card is necessary.


Working Environment:
The role may involve exposure to various environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures and noise. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds and performing tasks that require climbing, balancing, and manual dexterity.
