Overhead Crane Technician

As a Crane Operations Specialist at Steel Technologies LLC, your primary role will be to manage the operation of overhead cranes for the efficient movement of materials, equipment, and products. Your keen attention to detail and commitment to safety will be essential in conducting regular inspections and identifying any equipment defects, ensuring cargo is secured and materials are loaded in accordance with customer specifications.
Shift Schedule: 2nd Shift - Monday through Friday (2:00 PM to 10:30 PM)
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily inspections of crane equipment and maintain accurate documentation.
- Operate overhead cranes to facilitate the transportation of materials between storage areas, workstations, and trucks.
- Identify and retrieve materials based on production requirements.
- Ensure the accuracy of material transfers from storage to machine storage areas or equipment.
- Assist in moving materials from machinery to packaging and scales.
- Perform maintenance tasks such as replacing slitter heads and managing scrap hoppers.
- Stay current with crane operation training and certifications.
- Report any safety concerns or quality issues to the supervisor or shift lead.

Qualifications for Success:
- Proven experience in operating overhead cranes.
- Familiarity with current crane operation protocols.
- Ability to utilize measuring tools such as tape measures and micrometers.
- Capability to lift and move weights ranging from 10 to 75 pounds regularly.
