Key ResponsibilitiesSell international and domestic vacation packages, cruises, tours, hotel, car rental, rail, and air travel to meet the needs of our Members.
Research and evaluate travel products and services to provide Members with the best options for their travel needs.
Stay up-to-date with world events and travel industry developments to provide Members with relevant information and expert advice.
Process and interpret travel documents for Members purchasing travel products with AAA and inform them of governmental requirements.
Initiate contact with Members and past customers to prospect for new business and encourage repeat business.
Cross-sell products and services, such as insurance and membership accounts.
Basic computer skills and experience with industry-specific applications, such as Galileo and VAX.
GDS experience required (Apollo/Galileo/Travelport).
Knowledge of travel products and worldwide geography, with the ability to read and interpret maps and brochures.
Strong consultative selling skills and the ability to listen to Members' needs.
Bilingual communication skills are a plus.
High school diploma or equivalent.
2 years of recent experience selling international and domestic travel services.
Travel Institute certification as CTA, CTC, or CTIE.
This is a full-time, onsite position at AAA San Jose Brokaw (California). The successful candidate will work in an office environment, sitting at a desk or computer workstation for extended periods of time. May travel by car, plane, or other form of transportation to attend business meetings or conferences.
This role is subject to an incentive plan that includes commissions and/or piece rate bonuses. While top performers earn more, we expect most employees to earn between $0 - $38,000 annually in incentives, contingent on performance. New Travel Counselors are eligible for a bonus guarantee for the first five quarters.
