An exciting opportunity has emerged within our Fundraising and Supporter Engagement Team for the position of In Memory and Legacy Fundraising Manager.
The In Memory and Legacy Fundraising Manager will play a pivotal role in enhancing Legacy and In-Memory revenue to achieve set annual objectives. You will motivate individuals to contribute, creating and executing a strategic cultivation and stewardship program that builds upon and expands YHA's previous achievements.
This is a hybrid position, with the expectation of office attendance on predetermined dates.

Key Responsibilities:
In collaboration with the Fundraising and Supporter Engagement Team, you will be tasked with:
- Partnering with the Senior Individual Giving Manager to devise, oversee, and strategize the growth of Legacy and In-Memory donations.
- Ensuring that all produced materials are precise and adhere to relevant data protection, charity, gift aid legislation, and the Fundraising Regulator's Code of Fundraising Practice.
- Safeguarding the charity's interests in the management of Legacies, in accordance with Probate Law, Estate Administration Law, best practices from the Institute of Legacy Management, and Charity Commission guidelines. Staying informed about legislative and regulatory developments impacting Legacy and In-Memory fundraising activities.
- Collaborating with the Senior Individual Giving Manager to shape, plan, and implement a Legacy and In-Memory strategy that fosters income growth, maximizing the conversion of donors into Legacy Pledgers.
- Supporting various teams and members, executing tasks, and preparing reports in a timely manner while adhering to best practices.
- Creating and facilitating a training program focused on legacies and reporting.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in developing and executing a Legacy and In-Memory strategy, marketing initiatives, and supporter engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to cultivate supporters leading to a Legacy ask.
- Experience in creating and implementing stewardship plans for enquirers, donors, and legators.
- Background in developing and executing legacy marketing strategies.
- Experience working with and managing external agencies.
- Proven track record in delivering Legacy cultivation events.
- Experience in reporting and analysis.
- Familiarity with specialized Legacy databases and/or CRM systems and legacy administration.
- Knowledge of charity law related to Legacies, Gift Aid, and information management.
- Ability to communicate confidently with supporters and colleagues regarding legacies.
- Understanding of YHA, its Charitable Objects, and the sector.
- Awareness of the significance of confidentiality and handling sensitive information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (email, word processing, and spreadsheets).
- Flexibility in working hours, including occasional weekend work and travel across the network, with the ability to stay overnight for supporter events.
- Results-oriented while demonstrating integrity in interactions with others.
- Self-motivated with the capability to work independently.
