We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Emerging Technologies Support professional to join our team at Applied Research Associates (ARA). As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the Office of the Secretary of Defense in the National Capital Region.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will have experience with Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) detection, tracking, identification (DTI), and mitigation. You will support the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)) Technical, Analytical, Financial, Administrative, and Specialized Support program.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate critical S&T international collaboration initiatives critical to counter small UAS (C-sUAS) detection, tracking, identification (DTI), and mitigation technologies.
- Conduct analytical studies and technology explorations in support of the Joint Staff and Combatant Commanders to identify new and innovative passive approaches to enhance survivability from the employment of adversary UAS against US friendly forces and critical assets.
- Expand current S&T countering small-UAS support efforts to include the countering of Unmanned Surface Vessels (USV), Unmanned Underwater Vessels (UUV), and Unmanned Ground Systems (UGS).
- Master's degree from an accredited institution.
- At least 10-13 years of recent and relevant experience including strategic technical oversight of projects and technical project management in unmanned systems/technologies.
- Highly specialized experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements.
- Familiarity with developing taxonomies, tabletop exercises, and demonstrations.
- Current DoD TOP SECRET Clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills and excellent time management skills.
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from an accredited institution.
- 15 years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with high-power microwave.
- Familiarity with electro-optical/infrared detection devices.
