About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to provide technical and operational support to pretrial services officers in the Northern District of California. As a Pretrial Services Officer Assistant, you will assist with investigations, monitor select defendants, draft reports and correspondence, and perform other operational duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist pretrial services officers with compiling information for investigations and monitoring select defendants.
  • Draft reports and correspondence to support pretrial services operations.
  • Perform other operational duties as assigned by pretrial services officers.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective and efficient pretrial services operations.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to two years of general or specialized experience indicating the ability to acquire the knowledge and skills required to perform the duties of the position.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with office software applications.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively with others in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field of academic study.
  • Work experience within the federal court system.
  • Knowledge of the criminal justice system, including experience with legal terminology and processes.
