Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive onboarding program for new advisors, including orientation sessions, mentorship opportunities, and ongoing training on university policies and procedures.
  • Provide ongoing professional development for all advisors, covering topics such as academic advising best practices, effective communication techniques, and data analysis for student success initiatives.
  • Collaborate with department chairs and faculty to schedule and coordinate semester professional development opportunities for advisors, aligned with current trends and needs.
  • Assist advisors in creating and utilizing student persistence and progression reports to identify at-risk students and implement early intervention strategies.
  • Develop and maintain systems for uploading TSI scores and department permits for courses, ensuring accurate and timely student enrollment.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Enrollment and Completion Advisors, providing guidance, feedback, and support to maximize their effectiveness.
  • Foster a collaborative environment within the advising community, promoting communication and resource sharing among advisors and other student success stakeholders.
  • Analyze data and report on key enrollment and completion metrics, identifying areas for improvement and proposing data-driven solutions.
Requirements
  • A Master's degree is required.
  • Five years of successful advising experience.
  • Strong leadership skills, including motivational communication and team empowerment.
  • Effective organizational abilities, showcasing strong time-management and multitasking skills.
  • Commitment to student success, with a dedicated approach to developing retention strategies.
