Job Overview
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned software solutions architect with a background in both functional and development roles within intricate enterprise software environments, particularly in the Pharma, Bio-Tech, or Medical Device sectors. The individual must demonstrate exceptional analytical abilities and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and software vendor teams. A disciplined self-starter, the successful candidate will engage with developers (both in-house and external), system administrators, product owners, and operations teams to ensure the seamless operation of the manufacturing facility's suite of applications.

This position merges software development, configuration, and customization expertise with operational oversight, enabling the candidate to adeptly manage both project initiatives and operational support challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and interpret business requirements, functional specifications, and technical design documents for various projects.
  • Design and implement solutions tailored to the needs of the manufacturing facility's application suite.
  • Conduct technical evaluations for project proposals submitted by stakeholders.
  • Advise on optimal modifications, designs, and configurations for local applications to fulfill customer requirements.
  • Lead technical, business analysis, and testing efforts during patch deployments and major system upgrades, ensuring smooth transitions and operational continuity.
  • Possess expertise in creating reports, interfaces, data conversions, and custom extensions for manufacturing applications.
  • Ensure thorough testing of new functionalities and system modifications.
  • Collaborate with software vendors to resolve issues and support patch deployment activities.
  • Provide technical support for escalated tickets, leveraging knowledge of data models, system jobs, design, data flow, and web services.
  • Partner with vendors or external consultants to develop performance-enhancing custom solutions.
  • Adhere to IT compliance and team protocols for change control of system modifications.
  • Deliver in-depth subject matter expertise to guarantee that configurations, business processes, and system interfaces operate as intended.
  • Document issue resolutions comprehensively to support system audits.
  • Offer after-hours support as necessary based on operational requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a computer-related discipline (preferably in Web-Based Computer Technology) or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Programmer Analyst, Business Analyst, Test Lead, or Solutions Architect within Enterprise Software.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in API, Web Service, and third-party integration architectures.
  • 5+ years of experience with Life Sciences business processes and applications, including designing solutions compatible with MES (Apriso) and ERP (SAP).
  • Experience with Apriso Manufacturing Execution System (or similar MES software) is highly preferred.
  • Proficient in developer tools such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, Confluence, and Microsoft Azure cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with Agile Methodology.
  • Strong grasp of communication, marketing, and customer service principles.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience in collaborative, team-oriented environments with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively under pressure.
  • Proficient in end-to-end application development and support, with experience in both functional and technical roles.
