Dental Services Supervisor Job Overview

The Dental Department at Montana State Prison provides comprehensive dental care to incarcerated individuals. As a Dental Services Supervisor, you will oversee the daily operations of the dental clinics and ensure that offenders receive the necessary dental care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform administrative tasks and clerical functions for the Dental Department.
  • Function as a clinical dental assistant as needed.
  • Collect data on inmate patients to assess their dental needs and schedule appointments accordingly.
  • Compile data and information critical to the functions of the Dental Services Unit.
  • Assign tasks, clinic assignments, and establish work pace.
  • Review work products for accuracy, adequacy, and timeliness.
  • Ensure that work is equitably distributed and office policies and safety procedures are followed.
  • Manage the Dental Policies and Procedures manual and overall Continuous Quality Improvement Manual.
  • Collaborate with dental authorities to ensure compliance with National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) dental standards.
  • Act as a resource to provide knowledge for dental-related process and technical issues.
  • Assist in ensuring dental staff provides quality and appropriate patient care.
  • Recruit, hire, and retain qualified staff to carry out dental services responsibilities.
  • Conduct periodic performance appraisals and ensure employee performance meets expectations.
Work Environment:

95% of the time, you will work at Montana State Prison in Deer Lodge, MT. 5% of the time, you may be required to travel to other secure sites.

Benefits:
