Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Kaiser Permanente in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients in various settings, including radiology, emergency department, surgery, and portable bedside service areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform radiologic examinations according to departmental protocols, positioning patients, providing immobilization devices as required, and selecting technical factors for optimal imaging.
  • Review orders, correlate patient clinical history with exam being performed, and review previous studies when follow-up and progressive studies are requested.
  • Follow all National Patient Safety Goals, ensuring accuracy of information and data entry, maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality, and capturing required documentation in the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Prepare sterile fields and contrast agents, maintain appropriate and adequate supplies during procedures, and assist radiologists during fluoroscopic procedures.
  • Post-process and review images as required, prepare images for radiologist interpretation, and transmit images to the Diagnostic Imaging PACS system.
  • Maintain working knowledge of all department equipment and devices, report equipment malfunctions, and report accidents and/or unusual incidents to administrative personnel.
  • Assume responsibilities for patient needs during procedures, provide service-oriented communication, and emphasize a personalized, individualized, compassionate patient care atmosphere.
  • Provide instructions on safety measures to patients, family members, and hospital staff, ensure appropriate safety precautions are followed, and apply measures to minimize radiation exposure to patients and self.
  • Function as part of the resuscitation team during Code Blue and/or Rapid Response Team situations.
  • Maintain materials and linen supply, maintain general order and cleanliness of assigned room, and rotate and share on-call responsibilities for General Radiology service areas.
  • Pursue ongoing continuing education and attend departmental meetings and/or in-service presentations as needed or required.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in radiologic technology from an accredited school or two years of directly related experience.
  • Radiographer License (Hawaii) required at hire, Basic Life Support from American Heart Association, and Radiologic Technologist Certification required at hire from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Trauma, fluoroscopy, and surgery experience.
