Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish partnerships with donors to ensure a continuous flow of goods
  • Properly log donor counts daily, including eWaste donations
  • Offer tax receipts to donors and provide assistance with unloading donations
  • Handle goods and equipment properly to avoid damage or breakage
  • Assist drivers in loading/unloading goods or equipment
  • Communicate necessary reports and information in a timely manner
  • Sort and label goods by category and place in proper containers or equipment
  • Separate high-end goods, computer, and computer accessories, and place in proper equipment
  • Fill out necessary production and inventory reports
  • Stack donated goods neatly and safely
  • Perform basic arithmetic calculations, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication
  • Hand out marketing materials to donors
  • Greet donors and provide information about Goodwill's donation policy, mission, and programs
  • Maintain clean housekeeping around the donation area (approximately 50 ft. radius)
  • Assist supervisors in providing on-the-job training to new staff, participants, clients, and volunteers
Requirements:
  • Retail and customer service experience preferred
  • Must be able to read and write English proficiently or have enrolled in and be on track to successfully complete an approved ESL program
  • Demonstrate math and/or accounting skills
  • Must be familiar or gain familiarity with cashiering systems
  • Must be able to stand on hard surfaces for an extended period
  • Ability to work in diverse public environments
  • Must be able to lift at least 35 lbs.
