Job Description:

Communicare, a leading community mental health center in North Central Mississippi, is seeking a dedicated Direct Care Worker to join our team. As a Direct Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with serious mental illness, children with serious emotional disturbances, and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct care and support to individuals in the Supervised Living program, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Assist individuals with daily living activities, such as money management, medication management, and transportation.
  • Develop and implement personalized plans to promote social development, skills acquisition, and community integration.
  • Collaborate with the Communicare Treatment Team to ensure seamless care coordination and effective service delivery.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; CPI certification preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate positively to individuals served and their families.
  • A current valid driver's license, automobile insurance, and an insurable driving record are mandatory.
Compensation:

We offer a competitive hourly wage of $11 per hour, plus a range of benefits, including medical insurance, critical illness insurance, life/AD&D/long-term disability insurance, and 403(b) retirement plan matching. Enjoy 11 holidays per year, 15 annual leave days (18 after three years), and 15 sick leave days annually.
