Job Title: Senior Financial Manager

Northwest Real Estate Capital Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the general ledger accounting, cash management, and financial reporting for assigned properties.
  • Monitor cash flow, manage cash on a daily basis, and forecast required funds.
  • Approve disbursements of payables based on timing and available cash.
  • Monitor property escrow and reserve accounts for related expenditures and ensure proper funding in accordance with loan and partnership agreements.
  • Participate in monthly conference calls with Regional Property Managers to review financial operations and assist with cash projections and sourcing funds for significant expenditures.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements for properties and save electronic copies to the network drive.
  • Prepare and submit property reports for investors and lenders, ensuring timely distribution.
  • Prepare and submit ACH transfer requests and approve other accountants' requests.
  • Prepare year-end property and partnership audit files and reconcile them against the prior year's audited trial balance and retained earnings.
  • Prepare supporting work papers for audit and tax return preparation.
  • Monitor submission of requested information from auditors.
  • Provide training and/or mentorship for new property accountants, regional managers, and property managers as needed.
  • Assist the Controller in leading a team of property accountants.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • The Senior Financial Manager is responsible for managing and leading the Property Accountants and Accounting Clerks.

Work Environment:

  • Office environment; hybrid remote/telecommuting available after 60 days. Offers flexible schedule working four 10-hour days or five 8-hour days.

Education and Experience:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in an Accounting or Finance related role required with at least 2 years' experience managing a team of accountants.
  • Education: BA or BS Accounting, Finance or related field of study required. CPA accreditation is preferred but not required.

  • Cognitive: Frequently required to concentrate on intense detail with constant interruption. Must be able to attend to a task/function for 1 hour or more. Frequently required to understand and relate to specific ideas, several at a time. Must be able to remember multiple tasks/assignments given to self and others over a period of several days.
  • Environmental Conditions: Dust, potential loud noises, glare from computer screens, heat, and air conditioning.
  • Equipment: Frequently required to use a computer, keyboard, mouse, telephone, ten-key, monitors, scanner, phone, copier, fax machine, and other office equipment.
