Job Title: Substance Abuse Specialist

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark is seeking a qualified Substance Abuse Specialist to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a Full Time Substance Abuse Specialist for our Pathways to Housing program located in Newark, NJ.

Job Duties:
  • Provides individual substance abuse counseling and group programming to individuals requiring support or less intensive services.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of a service plan that incorporates individual needs assessments, and conducts substance abuse assessments on all residents.
  • Provides individual and group counseling to residents with a substance abuse history.
  • Makes appropriate referrals for treatment and services.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience providing services to the SPMI population.
