Job Summary:

West Marine is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician II to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on our distribution center's equipment, grounds, and structures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to and troubleshoot conveyor operational issues daily
• Perform inspections of assigned conveyor sections daily
• Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance functions on assigned conveyor sections
• Troubleshoot and repair facility electrical issues, including 110V, 220V, 277V, and 480V systems
• Perform monthly facility roof reviews
• Inspect and maintain the main Air Compressor System, including (2) rotary screw air compressors, (1) air dryer, and (1) oil/water separator daily
• Monitor and/or service the Shipping and Receiving powered gates and remote phone station
• Maintain facilities lighting systems (interior and exterior)
• Review operations of the Accu-sort scanner daily
• Review control set points for the Summit HVAC controller and adjust as needed
• Perform welding and metal fabrication
• Service and maintain the grounds sprinkler system (seasonal)
• Perform grounds keeping and landscaping as needed
• Perform fire pump testing on a rotational basis
• Support battery changing duties for PIT operators as needed daily
• Support facility/operational projects as needed
• Perform general facility maintenance as needed

Requirements:

• High School Diploma
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including after-hours call-ins
• Welding Certificate preferred
• Prior conveyor repair experience preferred
• Extensive knowledge and experience in troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical conveyor system issues
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, walking, and kneeling
• Ability to work well and communicate effectively with others
• Ability to think quickly and make clear judgments
