Business Systems Analyst

As a key member of the Behavioral Health Strategy team at Blue Shield of California, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our members have access to high-quality, affordable care. In this position, you will work closely with the Director, Clinical Strategy & Performance to collect and analyze data from various internal systems, providing actionable insights to inform business decisions.
Your WorkKey responsibilities of this role include:
- Providing complex analytical support through data analysis and interpretation to inform business operations
- Developing annual operating plans, capital budgets, and forecasts, as well as building business cases for new initiatives
- Creating and analyzing reports with complex data analysis for management review and presentation
- Defining business requirements and analyzing data to increase operational efficiency
- Providing analytical support for multiple projects simultaneously, establishing work plans and timelines, and coordinating with internal and external resources
- Collaborating with Data and Analytics teams and business Subject Matter Experts to clarify requirements and definitions
- Utilizing Agile methods and ceremonies to deliver data and reporting solutions
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- At least 7 years of prior relevant experience
- Experience validating the quality and integrity of incoming data
- Prior experience in data analysis and reporting, including Excel, SQL, BI tools, and data visualization
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to deliver solutions that meet business objectives and requirements
- Preferred experience with Behavioral Health data and services
The pay range for this role is: $ to $ for California.
Please note that this range represents the pay range for this and many other positions at Blue Shield that fall into this pay grade. Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.
