Your Responsibilities:


Plan, execute, and oversee the development of structural simulation models to support requirement verification and failure mode mitigation for New Product Development (NPD) or Quality Driven Productivity (QDP) initiatives.

Your work will encompass predicting fatigue life, stress, displacement, and vibration through implicit and explicit finite element analysis (FEA) and/or multibody dynamics (MBD) simulation methods, along with model correlation and calibration based on empirical data.


Develop and adhere to standard work and design guidelines related to the structural design of systems, components, and joints, including fasteners and material selections.


Act as a key member of various product and technology development teams, ensuring the design of reliable and durable products in accordance with Modeling and Simulation team standards.

Collaborate closely with test engineers and technicians, managing test requests, designing appropriate tests, overseeing implementations, validating data, and documenting findings in formal reports.

Lead the advancement and growth of the Modeling and Simulation Team, focusing on both computational and experimental methodologies applicable to Transport HVAC products.


Support and achieve annual corporate objectives for individuals and teams.

Utilize effective project management techniques and leverage available technical skills and resources for success.

Mentor other engineering resources globally.

Promote the principles of structural reliability and their relevance to product designs.

Some travel may be required (likely less than 10%).

Your Qualifications:


A Bachelor's Degree in Applied Mechanics or Mechanical Engineering (with a focus on Structural Integrity) and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is required.

A Master's Degree or Ph.D. with five years of relevant experience is preferred.

Essential Skills:
Formal education in structural dynamics, structural mechanics, advanced strength of materials, and digital signal processing is required. Experience with composites and/or electronics structural and thermal durability/reliability is advantageous.

Experience in structural engineering, both simulation and testing, is highly desirable.

Knowledge in the design, testing, and optimization for durability and reliability of machinery is crucial.

Experience in correlating simulation models with test data is required.

A strong team player with an inclusive mindset is essential.

Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, communication, and project management skills are necessary.

Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously is important.

Familiarity with structural data acquisition systems, both hardware and software, as well as mechanical strain measurement, is preferred.

Experience or knowledge in ANSYS, Hyperworks, Nastran, Siemens Test Lab, Siemens SimCenter, and nCode is a plus.

Experience in Transport HVAC products, engines, fans, and compressors is preferred.

Compensation:

Annual Base Salary:
$100,000 – 125,000
