Position Overview

As a Senior Estimation Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Analyzing proposal specifications, architectural drawings, design reports, and site conditions to define the project scope.
  • Participating in pre-bid meetings to understand project requirements and expectations thoroughly.
  • Collaborating with the Contract Administrator to coordinate bid preparation.
  • Executing risk and contract management tasks, reporting insights to the Director of Preconstruction.
  • Managing pre-bid RFIs prior to the cut-off date for specifications.
  • Preparing detailed estimates by calculating project take-offs and overall scope in alignment with both preconstruction and project delivery teams.
  • Maintaining comprehensive files of working documents to support estimating figures.
  • Engaging with Owners and other contractors to provide engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility.
  • Drafting budgets, subcontracts, and purchase orders while assisting in preliminary project scheduling.
  • Overseeing awarded contracts, including estimating additional work items, change orders, credits, material procurement, and monitoring progress against budgets.
  • Mentoring and managing Junior Estimators and Interns, fostering a collaborative and innovative leadership environment.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering is preferred, though not mandatory.
  • 15 to 20 years of experience in estimating and preconstruction within the building industry.
  • A proven track record of engagement in estimating and preconstruction roles with a general contractor.
  • Demonstrated success in securing contract awards will be considered an advantage.
