Essential Qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a preference for candidates holding an Associate's degree in CNC programming or a related technical field. Proficiency in programming, alongside a solid understanding of electronics and machine tools, is essential. Familiarity with software such as AutoCAD, Router Cim, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word is necessary. The ability to read and interpret work orders and blueprints is critical.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine CNC programs to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Review and interpret 3D CAD design blueprints.
  • Conduct calculations for material cutting and programming.
  • Translate design specifications into a computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) program.
  • Collaborate with engineers and team members to ensure program effectiveness.
  • Test and validate completed programs through simulations.
  • Determine operational sequences within programming tasks.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools for various projects.
  • Analyze job orders and perform necessary calculations.
  • Monitor and adjust speeds and tooling for optimal performance.
  • Oversee tooling procurement and maintain inventory, including sharpening and maintenance.
  • Implement improvements to reduce setup times and enhance complex shape contouring.
  • Streamline tooling processes to boost productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with blueprint specifications and safety regulations.
  • Adapt programming for multi-shift operations.
  • Engage with team members at all levels to uphold quality standards.
  • May require flexible hours to accommodate urgent programming needs.
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures.
  • Assist in training new machine operators.
  • Promote and enforce safety protocols.
  • Participate in meetings to address CNC production challenges.
  • Operate machinery as directed by supervisory staff during low programming demand.
  • Document departmental activities and prepare necessary reports.
  • Engage in other relevant duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements: CNC Machining Specialists will primarily work in a climate-controlled office setting, utilizing computer systems for programming tasks. Occasional machine operation may require standing and walking. The ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform bending, pushing, and pulling tasks is necessary.

Work Schedule: This position operates on a standard first shift schedule, with flexibility in start and end times to meet business needs. Typically, employees work 40 hours per week, with potential overtime during peak periods.
