Job Description:

At General Dynamics Information Technology, we are seeking a highly skilled Salesforce Release Manager to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the Salesforce DevOps strategy, including source code control, Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), testing, monitoring, and automating Salesforce deployments using Copado.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the DevOps release process for Salesforce instances and assist developers throughout their release process.

Develop, maintain, and advance our CI/CD pipeline from scratch and environment setup using Copado and related tools.

Maintain GIT repositories and deployment of all software releases.

Create CI/CD processes, standards, and training for other team members to streamline releases.

Ensure code delivery through the development lifecycle is simple, seamless, and consistent, and long-term resolutions and an overall roadmap for the completion of this process.

Coordinate with Scrum Teams, Dev Leads, and Project Managers to understand the roadmap, prepare release schedules, and coordinate deployments across the program.

Deeply understand our release process and think strategically about continuous improvement and automation that enables our developers to release on-time.

Support post-deployment activities, including knowledge transfer, process documentation, and application bug fixes.

Collaborate with Development Teams to ensure safe and secure environments for development, quality assurance, user acceptance testing, and deployment.

Act as a single point of contact to plan, coordinate, and oversee our releases, patches, and emergency change requests.

Refresh a sandbox, package, and deploy metadata components, provide expertise on release branching strategies, code merging, and conflict resolution strategies.

Manage DevOps/Release teams, inclusive of performance management, merit, and compensation, corporate and program compliance, and coaching.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or higher

Copado Fundamentals I certification and Copado Fundamentals II certification

6+ years as a Salesforce Release Manager, working with Salesforce deployments and DevOps/release management, with an understanding of CI/CD processes, integration concepts in an enterprise IT software development environment.

8+ years of hands-on experience developing custom code and/or administering code on the Salesforce platform and Salesforce.com technology-based solutions, including experience with Salesforce configuration, such as managing users, profiles, and permission sets.

Implemented complex Salesforce DevOps pipeline for Salesforce releases with Copado

Expertise with branching strategies, version control, pipeline automation, and orchestration using Copado

Mastery of advanced Git (e.g., conflict resolution, cherry-picking, rebasing), one or more popular CI/CD tools, such as Jenkins, BitBucket, GitHub, or Ant

Experience coordinating branching and merging strategies with development and QA teams

Experience with Continuous Development/Deployment/Integration design and best practices

Experience managing a team, inclusive of performance management, merit, and compensation, and corporate and program compliance

Experience with Agile methodologies and frameworks, such as SAFe, Scrum, and Kanban

Advanced knowledge in code deployment version conflict resolution

Candidate must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance

Candidate must have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years

Preferred Qualifications:

Salesforce Certifications: Development Lifecycle and Deployment Designer, Salesforce Platform Developer I

Healthcare Service Industry or Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) experience

Experience working with JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint

Experience with infrastructure in a cloud environment (AWS preferred)

Experience with Agile methodologies and frameworks, such as SAFe, Scrum, Kanban

Certified SAFe Agilist, SAFe Practitioner, or other Agile certification

Ability to manage time effectively, to work under time pressure, to meet schedules and deadlines, to multi-task, to plan, organize, and prioritize work assignments, and pay close attention to detail

The likely salary range for this position is $148,750 - $201,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location, and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
