Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled School Psychologist to join our team at Cherokee County School District. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive psycho-educational assessments and consultations to students, parents, and school staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial and reevaluation assessments of students in special education programs, ensuring compliance with federal and state guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain a competent understanding of various assessment instruments, including their psychometric characteristics.
  • Provide consultative services to parents, teachers, and students, utilizing effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Communicate assessment results and recommendations through verbal and written reports, ensuring clarity and understanding.
  • Participate in eligibility and program decisions, contributing to the development of individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Engage in ongoing professional development, staying current with best practices and research in school psychology.
  • Recommend evidence-based interventions and remedial procedures to support student learning and development.
  • Manage time and resources effectively, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Provide differential diagnoses in areas of intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, and emotional/behavioral disorders.
  • Maintain valid and appropriate licensure, certification, and/or credentialing as required for this position.
  • Adhere to safety procedures, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Comply with federal and state laws, as well as Board policies, in all aspects of job performance.
Requirements
  • Valid Georgia PSC Certificate and Service Certification (S) in School Psychology (P-12).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, and other school staff.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to diverse situations and individuals.
  • Proficiency in assessment instruments and techniques, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of productivity.
