Early Mobility Nurse Assistant

UNC Health is seeking a highly skilled Early Mobility Nurse Assistant to join our team. As an Early Mobility Nurse Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing safe patient handling and mobility interventions to patients on our 4th floor Surgical/Joint Center unit.
Responsibilities- Provide mobility interventions for patients under the direction of the RN and in collaboration with the Department of Rehabilitation Services.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) with a focus on mobility such as ambulation, positioning, and toileting.
- Utilize patient handling equipment, transfer devices, and protective equipment in compliance with Hospital policies and patient handling protocols while utilizing proper body mechanics and observation.
- Record and provide data to analyze key performance indicators.
- Maintain a safe patient environment through interventions and routine observations.
- Comply with nursing and infection control practices in accordance with established Hospital and department policies and procedures, organizational goals and objectives.
- Encourage improved activity levels for patients as medically indicated.
- Prepare patients, equipment, and supplies for specific procedures and provide manual assistance as required.
- Obtain and record patient data for medical records noting and informing RN/LPN of information collected.
- High School diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a Level I - Nurse Aide education program approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
- Currently listed as a Nursing Assistant I (NAI) with the Division of Facility Services with no substantiated findings of abuse, fraud, neglect, or misappropriation of property.
- BCLS certification must be maintained.
