Job Summary

UNC Health is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Early Mobility CNA to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and promoting mobility and independence for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide safe patient handling and mobility interventions under the direction of the RN and in collaboration with the Department of Rehabilitation Services.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) with a focus on mobility, such as ambulation, positioning, and toileting.
  • Utilize patient handling equipment, transfer devices, and protective equipment in compliance with Hospital policies and patient handling protocols.
  • Record and provide data to analyze key performance indicators.
  • Maintain a safe patient environment through interventions and routine observations.
  • Comply with nursing and infection control practices in accordance with established Hospital and department policies and procedures.
  • Encourage improved activity levels for patients as medically indicated.
  • Prepare patients, equipment, and supplies for specific procedures and provide manual assistance as required.
  • Obtain and record patient data for medical records, noting and informing the RN/LPN of information collected.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a Level I - Nurse Aide education program approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
  • Currently listed as a Nursing Assistant I (NAI) with the Division of Facility Services with no substantiated findings of abuse, fraud, neglect, or misappropriation of property.
  • BCLS certification must be maintained.
Work Environment

This position is employed by NC Health (Rex Healthcare, Inc., d/b/a NC Health), a private, fully-owned subsidiary of UNC Health Care System. This is not a State employed position.
