About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Utility Worker - Maintenance Technician to join our team at Transdev. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our fleet of vehicles and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily fueling of all vehicles as required, documenting all fluid transactions in log sheets.
  • Conduct daily pulling and dumping of fare box vaults, ensuring accurate and efficient processing.
  • Clean and maintain the interior and exterior of all vehicles, including sweeping and removal of graffiti and debris.
  • Operate hand and power cleaning equipment, including vacuums and scrubbers, to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Conduct daily checks of all vehicle tires for air pressure and damage, ensuring safe and reliable operation.
  • Inspect all units brought through the fuel island for body damage and proper working lights, reporting any issues to management.
  • Responsible for moving or positioning a variety of equipment, requiring a Yard Permit.
  • Clean vehicles at locations remote from the maintenance facility, such as transfer centers or relief points.
  • Responsible for disinfecting and cleaning shop and facilities, as well as other housekeeping duties, including removal of garbage from receptacles.
  • Complete required forms for entry into the computer system, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the efficient operation of the facility.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Knowledge of shop safety standards.
  • Must be well organized and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Must have a New York State Driver's License.
  • CDL with airbrakes preferred.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to perform without constant or immediate supervision.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours or shifts.
  • Ability to work as a team.
  • Must be PC literate.
Working Conditions

The physical demands of this role include:

  • 10% of work accomplished in doors and in air-conditioned or well-ventilated facilities.
  • 70% of work accomplished in an open garage facility.
  • 20% of work accomplished in an outdoor setting, outside of the facility.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Performs physical activities that require considerable use of the arms, repetitive hand-wrist motion, and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, standing, bending, and handling materials.
  • Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
