Position Overview
Responsible for a range of activities that support the daily operations of the Miami University Equestrian Center and the well-being of the horses.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct routine cleaning of horse stalls, including periodic thorough cleaning and re-bedding.
2. Ensure proper feeding and hydration of horses in both barn and pasture settings.
3. Maintain cleanliness across all facilities, including public areas, tack rooms, offices, and restrooms.
4. Perform physical tasks such as lifting, walking, bending, carrying, and climbing on a daily basis.
5. Administer dietary supplements as directed by the Director.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
Possess an understanding of various types of hay and grain, along with the ability to assess their quality and quantity accurately.
Experience with farm machinery is beneficial, including tasks such as arena dragging and horse transportation.

Additional Duties:
1. Conduct weekly inspections of the facility.
2. Collaborate with various departments on campus.
3. Oversee the maintenance of farm vehicles in coordination with the Physical Facilities Department.
4. Engage with students, parents, alumni, and prospective students, demonstrating effective communication and professionalism.

Team Collaboration:
Assist in creating daily work schedules and horse turnout lists.
Support barn operations and assist with educational classes as needed.
Work alongside student staff to ensure task completion and preparation for equestrian events.

Qualifications:
Minimum: Prior experience in equine care and familiarity with barn and farm machinery. A valid driver's license is required.
Preferred: Experience with a reputable equine professional, some college education, strong communication skills, and knowledge of industry practices.

Additional Information:
A criminal background check is mandatory. All campuses are smoke- and tobacco-free.
