Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at Scotts Miracle-Gro. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing and leading the innovation and product improvement pipeline for our Lighting and Controller category.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop a multi-year innovation and product improvement pipeline for the Lighting and Controller category in collaboration with the category manager and other engineering team members.
  • Take a leadership role in high frequency and high density power electronics device product development, including circuit design, simulation, and validation.
  • Manage internal R&D and performance test lab, maintain test equipment with defined annual calibration procedure, and coordinate with cross-functional teams on collecting, executing, and reporting test requests.
  • Support internal quality and manufacturing teams and provide lab service and technical support on internal manufacturing items, including lighting, controllers, and other hardware.
  • Partner with internal regulatory team and attend ANSI, ASABE, UL, DLC, and NIST committee meetings to obtain the latest lighting and controller regulatory and standard development information.
  • Partner closely with other Category Managers to ensure they are armed with ample technical knowledge on the categories they support, including RF devices, compliance, and lab performance testing.
  • Travel up to 20% of the time.
Requirements:
  • Must have a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, PhD with RF device focus preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in RF device development and high-density power electronics.
  • Preferred experience on high energy density power electronics device design and high-frequency RF device design.
  • Preferred experience on managing electrical and electronics lab.
  • Preferred experience on UL, CSA, EC, and ETL certification processes.
  • Working experience with Mandarin speaking environment.
  • Advanced knowledge on power electronics hardware design.
  • Advanced knowledge on high-frequency FPGA and RF design.
  • Knowledge on semiconductor device and solid-state lighting.
  • Ability to interact with and contribute to cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
  • Drive to deliver products on time with attention to quality.
  • Ability to speak Mandarin preferred.

We offer a competitive salary range of $129,000 to $152,000, depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) match, and a 15% discount on company stock.
