Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Insight Global. As a key member of our electrical engineering services team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for a variety of projects, including power plants, process facilities, and industrial facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design electrical systems for projects from conceptual phase to design completion
  • Modify and review production drawings for various projects
  • Design electrical components for project needs and requirements
  • Apply strong knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and practices
  • Research and compile project-related data as required
  • Update drawings provided by senior engineers to verify corrections
  • Compile information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration
  • Perform field inspections, measurements, or calculations for public and private clients

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program
  • Or Bachelor of Science in Electrical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
  • Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering may be substituted for 1 year experience
  • 3 years of electrical engineering experience, consulting preferred
  • Successful completion (i.e., passing) FE or EIT preferred
  • Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment
  • Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures
  • Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Strong computer skills include AutoCAD, MicroStation, 2D and 3D rendering programs, and other analysis programs
