Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at St. David's North Austin Medical Center. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with our healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Perform and document patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for and response to respiratory therapy.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patients for therapeutic response and notify providers and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
  • Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.
Requirements
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 60 months of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Neonate Resuscitation certification within 60 months of employment start date.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 60 months of employment start date.
  • RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT/RCP) certification.
  • Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
  • Licensed Respiratory Therapist or State Registered Respiratory Therapist.
