Silicon validation software engineers at Apple play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our silicon products. As a silicon validation software engineer, you will be responsible for developing functional validation software for CPUs, caches, and memory subsystems of our System-on-Chip (SoC) designs.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced software engineer to join our team of silicon validation experts. In this highly visible role, you will be working on software that runs on every Apple device worldwide. Your primary responsibility will be to write functional validation software for our SoCs, identifying logic design and circuit bugs. You will collaborate with designers and architects to understand the functionality of various blocks in the SoC, create validation test plans, develop software workloads to validate CPU and memory subsystem features, and integrate these workloads into our system validation tool.

- Developing software workloads to validate CPU and memory subsystem features
- Integrating software workloads into our system validation tool
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience in silicon validation software engineering or a related field. A bachelor's degree is required. We also expect you to have good knowledge of ARM or another CPU instruction set architecture, experience with C and assembly programming, a strong understanding of micro-processor architecture, familiarity with memory technologies and power management, and experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Tcl.
Estimated Salary Range
$180,000 - $220,000 per year
