At ARM, we are seeking a highly skilled Software Architecture and Engineering professional to join our Central Engineering Software group. This team delivers support for ARM technologies across a wide variety of software projects and creates example software solutions to demonstrate real-world applications.
Key Responsibilities:- Understand new ARM architecture features, their implementation, and their impact on existing software components and tools.
- Analyze and deeply understand software solutions currently deployed in products, particularly major open-source software projects such as Linux.
- Deliver software improvements back to the relevant open-source projects as a reference for ARM customers to create their own systems.
- Work with ARM's OS, OEM, and Silicon Partners to drive standards that enable the optimization, differentiation, and fast evolution benefits of ARM's Partner model.
- Build new software paradigms onto ARM reference hardware designs.
- Profile the performance of the system and innovate ways to improve.
- Lead the validation of functionality, security, and safety.
- Knowledge of ARM-based computer architecture and experience with software profiling, instrumentation, and optimization.
- Strong understanding of complex multi-component embedded systems with demonstrable low-level device driver development or integration experience.
- Commanding knowledge of C or C++ development with proficiency in optimizing applications, workloads, and compilers.
- Understanding of how to rigorously test software and design software for test.
- Experience with the software lifecycle, having taken sophisticated software from concept to production and maintenance.
- Experience with Android, ChromeOS, or Windows software and systems.
- Experience with Linux, Linux distributions, Cloud/Edge applications, and networking software.
- Knowledge of Machine Learning software stacks, algorithms, and tooling.
- Knowledge of multimedia system designs involving GPUs, compositing display processors, and image signal processing.
- Familiarity with System-on-a-Chip architectures.
