Frisco, Texas, United States Guidepost Montessori Full time
Join our team as a Senior Children's House Educator at Guidepost Montessori

Embrace the chance to inspire children aged 3 to 6 years to cultivate independence, confidence, and a lifelong passion for learning.

What We Provide:
  • The chance to play a vital role in a premier Montessori program tailored to the unique needs of each child.
  • Fully-funded Montessori certification and continuous professional growth through the Prepared Montessorian Institute.
  • Generous tuition discounts for two children at any institution within our network.
  • A supportive community of colleagues and mentors who value your contributions and share best practices.
  • Opportunities for career advancement and promotions.
  • A competitive compensation package.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Paid leave and holidays.
Your Responsibilities

We are seeking a passionate and committed Senior Guide to nurture a diverse group of preschool-aged children in a Montessori setting.

In a Montessori classroom, educators (guides) meticulously create an environment that encourages independence and engages children's curiosity. Guides offer tailored support to each child, working with them individually and in small groups, demonstrating the use of materials, and providing precise language to enhance their understanding.

Thanks to the thoughtfully arranged environment and personalized assistance, children in a Montessori setting enjoy the freedom to explore and engage with materials of their choice for extended periods. Most importantly, this support and the available resources empower every child to develop essential skills, confidence, and a strong belief in their capabilities.

We are looking for a Senior Guide who is dedicated to helping every child achieve their fullest potential.

Key Responsibilities of Children's House Senior Guides:
  • Carefully observe each child to comprehend and address their physical, intellectual, and emotional requirements.
  • Design a beautiful, organized environment that promotes focus, independence, and profound learning.
  • Encourage self-sufficiency and confidence by guiding children to 'do it all by themselves.'
  • Deliver individualized and small-group lessons to foster each child's growth in practical skills, literacy, mathematics, and more.
  • Build meaningful relationships with each child and nurture a community of respect.
  • Engage in respectful communication and collaboration with parents to ensure optimal support for every child.
The Montessori Prepared Environment

Every classroom at Guidepost is equipped with a comprehensive range of high-quality Montessori materials for the Children's House curriculum, along with a budget for guides to personalize their space. Each classroom is arranged according to Montessori principles of beauty and order, designed to enable every child to learn, concentrate, and confidently achieve their independence.

A Guidepost Montessori Children's House space includes:
  • Child-sized furniture and ample space for children to work independently or in small groups.
  • Practical life materials that allow children to engage in activities such as sweeping, setting the table, dusting, and meal preparation.
  • A curriculum focused on fostering independence in dressing, feeding, and caring for their environment.
  • Scientifically designed, hands-on learning materials that promote foundational knowledge in mathematics, literacy, science, and more.
  • All materials are accessible to children on low shelves, with art displayed at their level.
  • Cozy reading nooks, real plants, and abundant natural light.
  • Delicate items made from natural materials like wood, metal, and glass instead of plastic.
If you are passionate about equipping children with the tools they need to thrive, eager to collaborate with parents on their child's journey, and excited to join a supportive community of peers, then Guidepost Montessori would be delighted to hear from you.

Ideal Candidates Should Have:
  • An interest in pursuing certified Montessori training through our Prepared Montessorian Institute (fully sponsored) or possess a Montessori diploma for ages 3-6.
  • Experience working with children aged 3-6 in group settings such as daycare, aftercare, or preschool.
  • Familiarity with child-centered philosophies like Reggio Emilia or Montessori, or a willingness to learn more.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in any field.
