Job Overview

The Medication Care Manager is responsible for providing high-quality care and services by administering medication and treatments in a safe and organized manner.

Responsibilities
  • Administer medications and treatments to residents in a safe and timely manner.
  • Review and document medication administration records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Resident Care Director and Wellness Nurse to ensure medication updates and changes are implemented.
  • Ensure that medications are passed according to schedule and that residents receive the correct medication and dosage.
  • Document and report any medication-related incidents or concerns to the Resident Care Director or Wellness Nurse.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident medication information and adhere to Sunrise Senior Living's policies and procedures.
  • Participate in training and education programs to stay up-to-date on medication administration and management best practices.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; certifications and ongoing training may be required per state or provincial regulations.
  • Previous experience working with seniors preferred.
  • Ability to make choices and decisions in the best interest of residents.
  • Ability to react and remain calm in difficult situations.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
