Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician Trainee to join our team at Kaiser Permanente in Honolulu, Hawaii. As a Pharmacy Technician Trainee, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacy operations and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist pharmacists with filling prescriptions, processing medication orders, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, members, and healthcare personnel, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Operate cash registers, process payments, and maintain accurate cash handling and reconciliation procedures.
  • Restock medications, supplies, and equipment, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of process improvements.
  • Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure seamless operations, including receiving, storing, and dispensing medications and supplies.
Requirements
  • Previous pharmacy experience or enrollment in a pharmacy technician training program.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, colleagues, and healthcare professionals.
  • Basic math skills, with the ability to accurately calculate prices and process transactions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of a pharmacy technician training program or post-high school coursework in a related field.
  • Experience working in a pharmacy or healthcare setting, with a strong understanding of pharmacy operations and procedures.
