Key Responsibilities:
As a Petroleum Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting volume and temperature measurements of petroleum products.
- Performing sampling of materials in accordance with client specifications.
- Executing visual inspections on various transportation methods including rail cars, tank trucks, and ships.
- Completing custody transfer surveys to ensure accurate commodity transfers.
- Calibrating and verifying equipment to maintain operational standards.
- Documenting and communicating results to ensure traceability and compliance.
- Collaborating with terminal and transport personnel to facilitate smooth operations.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- A fundamental understanding of basic mathematics.
- The ability to work in an automated environment.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- The capability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that include lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
Preferred Experience:
While not mandatory, the following qualifications are advantageous:
- Experience in petroleum measurement and sampling.
- Familiarity with custody transfer processes.
- Prior work in the petroleum or shipping sectors.
- Certification from relevant industry bodies.
Work Schedule:
This position may require varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Compensation and Benefits:
The compensation for this role ranges from $22.00 to $30.00 per hour, commensurate with experience. In addition to competitive pay, Intertek offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans.
