Petroleum Inspector

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking a skilled Petroleum Inspector to join our Caleb Brett team. As a Petroleum Inspector, you will be responsible for performing measurement testing and sampling of petroleum products to ensure compliance with clients' specifications.

• Perform measurement testing and sampling of petroleum products
• Conduct visual inspections on lines, pumps, manifolds, shore tanks, rail cars, tank trucks, barges, and ships
• Complete custody transfer surveys of commodities transferred to and from rail cars, tank trucks, shore tanks, barges, and ships
• Verify and communicate the results obtained and make entries into the appropriate media
• Provide on-the-job assistance and receive training from more experienced inspectors
• Communicate and coordinate with terminal, transport, and Company personnel to promote smooth exercise of duties assigned
• Maintain work areas, records, and equipment in a clean, organized, and functional condition

• Basic grasp of basic mathematics and work in an automated environment
• Ability to work on an on-call basis
• Cannot have a fear of heights
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs for shore tanks
• Valid driver's license and reliable driving record
• Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) within 30 days of hire
• Ability to travel as business needs dictate

• Experience with volume measurement, temperature measurement, and sampling of commodity materials
• Experience with visual inspections on lines, pumps, manifolds, shore tanks, rail cars, tank trucks, barges, and ships
• Experience with custody transfer surveys of commodities transferred to and from rail cars, tank trucks, shore tanks, barges, and ships
• Experience with routine equipment calibrations, verification, and function checks
