The ASP Ammo Handler plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with Army and Fort Moore regulations and procedures. This position entails managing the storage, receipt, issuance, shipment, processing of unit returns, and repacking of Class V ammunition items. Additionally, the Ammo Handler is responsible for remarking ammunition containers in accordance with Military Standard (MIL-STD) 129R.

Key Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Execute warehouse operations as instructed.
  • Verify received materials against documentation, reporting any discrepancies or damages.
  • Review Ammunition Stores Slip (DA Form 3151) and prepare items for unit issuance, ensuring accurate replacement during returns and shipments.
  • Conduct regular surveys of storage locations to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Carry out re-warehousing tasks as needed.
  • Perform remarking and stenciling operations as required.
  • Implement inventory control procedures effectively.
  • Document data accurately on relevant forms.
  • Maintain organized record-keeping practices.
  • Ensure all storage areas are secured and systems activated at the end of operations.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned to achieve organizational goals.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work in outdoor environments under various weather conditions.
  • Safely operate all assigned Material Handling Equipment.
  • Utilize standard office equipment as necessary.
  • Perform duties in a stationary office environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds unassisted, with a minimum of 5 pounds in a warehouse setting.
  • Capable of standing for prolonged periods, up to eight hours.
  • Must navigate uneven terrain and various work sites as part of job responsibilities.
Qualifications

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a warehouse or order fulfillment environment is advantageous.
  • Possession of a valid state driver's license is required.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Basic Ammunition Certifications are preferred (Ammo-45, 63, 64, 67, 68, 75, 76, 112) and onsite training is available. Candidates must be able to obtain these certifications within 90 days of employment.

SECURITY CLEARANCE:

  • Must pass local ammunition security screenings.
  • Provide documentation of U.S. Citizenship, such as a birth certificate or passport.
  • Pass a background check for unaccompanied access to arms, ammunition, and explosives.
  • Obtain and maintain NACI/Tier I Clearance.

Experience:

  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience in ammunition handling or warehouse operations.
  • Exhibit high ethical standards and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; capable of interacting at all organizational levels.

Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Adept at problem-solving and conducting research using applicable regulations.
