Position Summary
The Family Physician will deliver primary healthcare services to patients at Sea Mar Community Health Centers, adhering to their professional training, experience, certification, and licensure. This role emphasizes collaborative teamwork to ensure coordinated care delivery. The physician will manage medication prescriptions and may engage in preventive health initiatives, including immunization and health education programs, under the guidance of the Medical Director and Health Center Administrator. Participation in clinical operations is expected to enhance the overall patient care experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a healthcare team to provide comprehensive services to patients.
- Deliver primary medical care in alignment with Sea Mar's practice principles and mission.
- Provide necessary hospital and institutional care for obstetric coverage.
- Refer patients to specialists as required.
- Prescribe and dispense medications in accordance with state regulations.
- Organize and lead preventive health programs, including educational initiatives for patients and community groups.
- Engage in clinical affairs to improve patient care alongside administrative staff and leadership.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of clinical documentation and related paperwork.
Qualifications
- Valid MD or DO license.
- Completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited residency; board certification or pursuit of certification in the relevant specialty.
- Current DEA certification.
- Compliance with all vaccination requirements for employment.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Experience in community health settings is advantageous.
