General Overview:


The Project Manager is tasked with the comprehensive oversight of solar construction initiatives, ensuring that projects are executed efficiently, costs are controlled within budgetary limits, and timelines are adhered to as per contractual obligations.

This role involves liaising with various departments integral to the success of a construction project, including legal, contract administration, interconnection and rebates, engineering, procurement, logistics, and direct hire construction, from the initiation of the project to its successful completion.

The Project Manager serves as the authorized representative responsible for overall project communication and client relations. Additionally, the Project Manager oversees and directs Project Superintendents across multiple construction sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage, and communicate project timelines to the COO, overseeing the project lifecycle for each solar installation from inception to completion, while documenting progress consistently.
  • Ensure that Superintendents effectively lead project teams, including electrical and mechanical foremen and construction crews, in alignment with established weekly and monthly objectives.
  • Collaborate with engineers and electricians to ensure that work outputs (CAD designs) meet industry standards.
  • Assess project resource requirements to guarantee that material and labor supplies align with project deadlines.
  • Partner with EHS to enforce stringent safety protocols at each construction site.
  • Establish quality control teams to verify the quality of all completed work.
  • Review and authorize all vendor invoices before submission to the accounting department.
  • Ensure that projects are finalized on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with customer expectations.
  • Draft site-specific scopes of work when subcontractors are utilized.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with new vendors to enhance pricing and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and executing construction contracts.
  • Strong organizational and customer service capabilities.
  • Excellent judgment and analytical abilities.
  • Capacity to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously with a high degree of organization.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Some experience in financial valuation and/or budgeting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Formal training in leadership and process management, coupled with a minimum of 5 years in a primary leadership capacity.
  • Background in electrical construction/contracting with large-scale commercial projects.
  • Familiarity with solar energy systems and/or power generation and distribution.
